International Credentialing Toolkit

Overview

The purpose of this International Credentialing Toolkit is to provide credentialing professionals with access to resources and best practices related to expanding a certification program internationally. Hear from industry experts about their own organizations’ experience and how to best prepare for an international transition. This toolkit was developed and is maintained by the members of the I.C.E. International Credentialing Task Force.

We recommend starting below with the International Expansion Checklists that provide both simple and more complex considerations and represent different variables in place prior to, during, and post-implementation of an international credential:

• A comprehensive online course - Considerations for International Expansion Online Course, which covers the following three modules: 1) Why and How to Expand your Certification Programs Abroad; 2) Legal Issues; 3) Taking Your Certification International or Global
• Case studies that explore how credentialing organizations successfully embraced and strategically implemented an international expansion.
• International Credentialing Interviews in which members of I.C.E.'s International Credentialing Task Force interviewed subject matter experts on a variety of topics related to expanding a certification program globally. Those topics include but are not limited to Test Translation and Adaptation, Test Eligibility, and Test Security.
